Wishing StairsThis is the third installment for the movie whispering corridors, which was preceded by the movie Memento Mori. It tells about a wishing stairs which is found in a dormitory of an exclusive school for girls. The stairs has 28 steps but it was believe that whoever makes a wish and the 29th step appears then her wish will come true not knowing of the evil that’s lurking behind the wishing stairs.

This movie focused more on the relationship that exists between two girls who are studying ballet in an exclusive school for girls. It focuses on two best friends whose relationship is torn because of the big differences in their lives. One comes from a very respectable family, So-hie whose future is ensured and is the lead ballerina in their school while the other one, Ji-seong, is living in the school dorm whose future is yet uncertain. Their relationship went sour even further when one of them was favored to win the competition whose prize is for the winner to enroll in a famous ballet school in Russia.

Ji-seong was desperate to win the competition and when she heard about the wishing stairs she tried it one night and wished for her to win the competition not knowing the imminent danger that lies ahead.

Review:

The first time I saw a trailer of this movie while watching one of my favorite movies I was really intrigue and decided to check it out. I must say it wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t that scary too. Although I find the story interesting yet I don’t like how slow the story turned and it took a little while before it actually go to full horror.

I feel sorry for So-hie whose love for her friend was real and how affectionate she was towards her friend Ji-seong who in turn was bitter and cold towards their friendship. I still think they should have put more emphasizes on the fat girl and put more fright towards the movie.

I still believe that this movie, just like the previous installments of whispering corridors, fail to deliver their purpose of being a horror movie. Well, the only thing about this movie is that if you are one of those viewers who can’t handle too much scary stuffs in a horror movie then this is definitely for you.
