This horror film was based on a Cambodian myth about a half-human daughter of a snake god. Actually, this movie was the first full-length picture since the Khmer Rouge regime. A story about a woman named Neang Nhi, who was neglected by her abusive and irresponsible husband. It all started when the protagonist lost her hoe in the fields. As she was searching for it, a python appeared and told her that he would return the lost article if only the woman will make love with him. That same night, the giant python disguised itself into a man. As expected, he was able to copulate with the woman, which got her pregnant. When her husband discovered this, he immediately beheaded the python. As far as his wife was concerned, he stabbed her with all his might until he was able to kill her.

The exciting part of the movie was when his wife died, dozens of snakes came out of her abdomen,( of which I bet will make you vomit until this movie comes to its finish). Endlessly, Manop chased the baby snakes one after the other. Unfortunately, he slipped and died soon after. Meanwhile, the only surviving snake had become an infant, adopted by a monk. Years passed by, she blossomed into a beautiful woman. She was given the name Pich Chanborm, Her only difference from an ordinary human being was that her head was full of snakes, instead of hair.

From my viewpoint, the nicest thing about the movie was that it did not use any special effects especially, the snake thing, it was REAL. Yes, you are correct! “AUTHENTIC VENOMOUS SNAKES” Speaking of its cinematography, it was very stunning. The production had perfectly combined the elements of color and shadow. In addition, the costumes used in this movie were magnificent. Location wise, they were all shot in Cambodia, making it more realistic and appealing to viewers. The bad points of the movie were the following: First, it failed to deliver the expected acting performances by the leads in this particular horror movie, Further, it lacked suspense, action and thrill .Thus, transforming fear into a humdrum affective state.

Overall, this movie was good and I do highly recommend this to everyone. Surely, you will still enjoy watching this though it had flawed in some of the essential elements necessary in a horror film.
