Reincarnation, a horror, thriller megged by well- acclaimed director Takashi Shimzu which got a PG rating, was a story about a college professor who had gone berserk and went on a killing spree at a hotel. The professor had slaughtered eleven hotel guests and employees. Meanwhile, the weirdest thing about this college mentor, was he kept on recording the crimes he had committed through his camcorder, while killing one person after another, as his victims continued to run for their lives. After 35 years, the haunting intensified Meanwhile, a director got intrigued by the psycho killer’s psychological state, He came up with a brilliant idea to make the crime story into a movie., entitled “Memory”, The climax started when the young lead actress began to see creepy things in her dreams. The ironic thing about was that other people were experiencing the same kind of horrible situation too.
“Reincarnation” seemed to project a “scary” a theme. However, it failed to deliver on that point. Why? The pacing of the movie was a “turtle moving” one. Furthermore, concerning its bloodcurdling scenes were disappointing for me. However, it could be “hair raising,” if you will take note of its minimal but loud sound effects. On the other hand, the interesting part about the film was the mysterious involvement of the young actress in all of these crimes. Was it a mere coincidence? Viewers have to find this out. Some of the monotonous images commonly used in Japanese horror flicks like a doll looking for a child; and the time machine travel from the past to the present were still included in the film which was so uninteresting.
The salient point of the movie liked to prove the belief of Buddhists that if a person dies, they were reborn in another world. Therefore, the soul continues to live on. In the same manner, the so called “Klepto – Amnesia where one imbued stories from elsewhere which in turn, allowing their memory to be pre occupied with these situations forgetting their very own.. The director attempted to do this in the film. However, the infusion literally speaking became the weakest link for the motion picture. It was because he became indecisive on how to execute and project the movie with this one respectively. On the good side, the movie was filled with a box of horrors and psychological elements. Therefore, it is highly recommended.
