After “Kapoww: The Ajaib Boy” hit Malaysian cinema June 17th, 2010, actor Afdlin Shauki will be featured in another anticipated big screen hit as a director for a mythical style Action and thriller film under local distributor Tayangan Unggul.
Starring Hans Isaac, Que Haidar, Vanidah Imran, Sabrina Hassan & Liyana Jasmay, the story begins when two characters Indra and Ilya returns to their home village for the funeral of their father, Iskandar. Although both grew up as brothers, Indra is the biological son who owes the loan shark enormous amount of money to support his gambling and illegal racing. Ilya, is adopted, he was given to Iskandar while passing through an old road twenty five years ago. On the other hand he is the better son. While on their way, they use an old highway as a shortcut and gets transported into another world. Now, they must find an escape route while encountering mystical creatures such as Orcs, witches, and highly skilled in Martial Arts wizards.
This is Afdlin Shauki sixth directed movie. He was casts as an interpreter in a 1999 Andrew Tennent Hollywood hit entitled “Anna and the King” with Jodie Foster and Chow Yun Fat. Misteri Jalan Lama is scheduled for release September 16, 2010. Check out the teaser below.
