
Taiwanese actor turned director “Doze” Chen-zer’s over the edge gangster movie Monga is finally coming to DVD. Thanks to Hong Kong Distributor Mega Star, both regular and Blu-ray version will be released July 9, 2010. However it will only be on Region 3 for now, until Warner Brothers finds the time to acquire it for US release.
A film that receive local controversy due to its depiction of massive violence and street fight, Monga stars two of Taiwan’s entertainment heartthrob Ethan Juan Ching-tien and Mark Chao You-ting. The setting takes place during the end of Taiwanese dictatorship, five young men decided to join a gang in their district. As they enjoy their new found status, they do not realized that other gangster have also interest in this prospering area. Now they must fight in order to keep their territory.
The movie was a hit when it was released way back in February.

US Distributor Virgil Films and Entertainment will be releasing Seven Days on Region 1 DVD this coming August 24, 2010. Directed by Shin-yeon Won, the man behind cult film such as Bloody Aria and Scary Hair.
