Panorama Entertainment, a Hong Kong distributor will finally be releasing Jingle Ma’s Mulan on DVD movie slated for February 9, 2010. It will be release on a regular disc version , a Blue-ray, and Special Edition set. Mulan is a live adaptation of Walt Disney animated film. The 1998 version was directed by Tony Bancroft. Asian actor Pat Morita and Soon-tek Oh lend their voice in the creation of the film while Philippine singing sensation Leah Salonga pitch for Mulan’s singing voice. The movie revolves around a warrior-girl name Hua Mulan who replace his ailing father after he was drafted to fight for the kingdom during the Norther Wei period. The 2009 version includes a casts of well known Chinese actors and actresses lead by Vicki Zhao Wei, Jaycee Chan and Chen Kun.
The difference between the three: the regular disc is pretty much good for the budget conscious people. The Special edition set has 2 discs, the first one contain the main movie while the 2nd disc contain extra special features which includes movie soundtracks, Making of …, Trailers, Director and Casts interview, Behind the scenes, Deleted scenes and photo gallery. The Blu-Ray contain both the main movie and special feature in one disc. All of them contains English subtitles as well as Chinese.
