Zombie Hunter Rika is actually the third of the sequel following the adventures of Japanese students who had fought against the terrifying zombies. The story was all about Rika and her best buddy who visited their grandfather whom he had not seen for almost two years Caught unaware, they did not have inkling that the place they were going to was being infested by zombies. They tried to navigate the zombie-plagued place until they get to their destination. Nearly bitten on her arm by a zombie, Rika’s grandfather came up with the idea to amputate her arm and replacing it with a new one which made her an instant zombie buster.
In this horror cum action movie, I called this as an action movie in a way because there were many blood splatting, blood sprays, boob flash and limbs flying as Rika our heroine tried to win the battle against the monsters. With respect to the climax, it was not an all zombie slashing and killing binge but a” mano- monster showdown, which featured a rubber boss zombie who resembled a creature in Kamen Rider. I just hoped that the boss zombie was provided with a much longer exposure because he had caught my fancy, though I am not used in watching this kind of film. Zombie Hunter Rika was an uneven slice of comedic gore with a decent tricks to keep it more exciting to glue or eyes on. On the other hand the picture was lacking of a certain snap or triggering factor. However, Sakaguchi’s choreography saved the day because of the scene like a zombie fight, which featured a person flopping around; kicking zombies and bouncing off cars were fun to watch.
Not only that, the high definition cinematography projected a video that looked like an image with skews of green color. Speaking of the audio is was crisp clear, which made it a plus factor. The dialogue can be heard without any problem. The majority of the content of the movie can be described as one with a typical genre. I found it amusing though hard to believe, using nuke power to kill zombies was really something extraordinary. As a whole, it was fun in content and context. Therefore, it is highly recommended. See it.
