Live adaptation of Matsumoto Koji supernatural horror manga Higanjima is scheduled for June release on Region 2 DVD under Japanese label King record.
Directed by Korean Filmmaker Kim Tae-Gyun. This movie is about a student named Akira Myamoto who went to look for the truth about his long dead brother and goes on with a search along with his friends. After being stranded in the isolated island he realized that his brother is still alive. A mysterious lady leads Akira to the place called Higanjima, however the town surrounding it is infested with blood sucking vampires. Being there for so long, his brother has develop a fighting skill that could help them survive the horror of the island.
The movie was first released January 9, 2010 in Japan and stars Hideo Ishiguro as Akira, Asami Mizukawa, Dai Watanabe, and Koji Yamamoto.
The Limited Edition will includes tons of special features like Making of, Extra footage, Directors and Casts interview, a 20 page Higanjima booklet, and more.
