Director Lee Jong-Yong’s Horror movie A Blood Pledge – Broken Promise is one of 34 Korean films scheduled for screening at Korean Film Festival this week March 4-7, 2010 in Los Angeles.
The movie stars Oh Yun-Seo, Jang Kyung-Ah, Son Eun-Seo, Song Min-Jung, and Yoo Sin-Ae. It was released in 2009, It is the fifth installment under the “Whispering Corridors” Franchise. The movie tells the tell of strange rumors spreading at a catholic girls high school after a student named Unjoo committed suicide. Her younger sister Jung-un is suspicious about her death. After doing her own investigation, she found out that three of Unjoo’s classmate is supposed to join her in a suicide pact. The truth behind the pledge is finally revealed and what really lies behind Unjoo’s death.
Another Horror film included in the lineup is The Pot, a film directed by Kim Tae-Gon and it was released in 2009. The movie is about two character named Hyeong-Guk and Young-Ae who move into an apartment in the city to start a new life. However strange things starts to happen when their daughter begins to act in a very strange way. The Pot stars Lim Hyeong-Kuk, Yang Eun-Yong, and Ryu Hyun-Bin.
“Le Grand Chef II,” will start of on March 4 at the Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre and “A Good Rain Knows” will follow after the closing ceremony. Actor John Cho and KOFFLA executive director Chang-Wha Chung unveiled the details for the Korean Film Festival on Monday which will feature more than 60 feature films and shorts. Events that will be featured in KOFFLA includes a master class with a Kim Hyung-Ku a renown cinematographer, surprise screening for a Korean masterpiece, ActorFest and more.
