Japanese film Hana Yori Dango Final, is the last part of the sequel to its second series which aired in TBS in 2007 which garnered massive ratings, with an ending like a storybook fairytale. Lovers Tsukushi Makino and Tsukasa Domyoji, were now engaged and quite happy together after their meeting in a senior prom. This would have been a “perfect” likewise, a legitimate conclusion, But the viewers cannot seem to get enough of this romantic love story. Therefore, “Hana Yori Dango (“The Final”) chapter was born.

As expected, this movie raked millions in the box office. The movie catered most especially to the female gender who admired to see once again the “on and off” theme of the couple’s roller coaster relationship. The plot of this final chapter was the search for the lost tiara, which cost $ 100 million called “The Sun of Venus” which was given to Tsukasa by her loving mother. As they looked for the stolen piece, the adventure never stopped for the altercating families which add spice and bunch of laughter in the movie,

Hana Yori Dango Final lacked a dramatically inspired concept akin to the other films with similar themes like this. A drama is characterized by addictive episodes;full of heart-warming scenes and unpredictable twists engrossing viewers to follow the series with thrill and great anticipation. Sad to say, the movie flawed on this aspect .In addition the storyline, was very and obviously calculable. In other words, the ending of the movie was already given, once a viewer was already halfway through in watching the film. The movie Hana Yori Dango Final had attempted to mix and match the genres of drama and romance, However this futile endeavor added a sense of a monotonous atmosphere for the supposedly adventurous and love filled picture. Furthermore, the slow pacing of the unwrapping of “mystery in the film was I think replicated from a “Bond movie” which caused me some disappointments. Moreover, the director must have thought of “cinematic methods” apart from the usual approaches to project a major difference in this flick. On the other hand, the chasing scenes were quite exciting; but very long.

Overall, my verdict for the film is only a very fair recommendation due to its cinematic pitfalls, which should have been carefully scrutinized prior to its making.
