dodeskadenA movie about the episodes from a group of Tokyo slum dwellers. Meanwhile, Rokkuchan, a retarded child brought meaning and zest to his life by driving an imagery street car, children who support their parents by scrounging and other ill – paying endeavors, schemers who find their way out from the vicious problem of poverty. This film was actually the first colored directorial job of the “King Of Visual Imagery”. Moreover, the great panoramas of mist and rain and the most revealing Mount Fuji, brought the characters before your very eyes. Their homes, hovels and most importantly, their dreams. To describe this socially relevant film, it was phenomenal. Each shot, regardless of the camera movement was magnificently framed just like a painting because it was perfectly balanced similar to a beautiful face. In addition, the saturation of color was so complete and seemed to float above the screen

To my amazement, I admired Kurosawa a lot. He had handled so magnificently the rude life and squalor of the underclass. There was not even a single flaw in this picture. In entirety, it was so perfect and powerful. From the color, to the editing, the choice of music, and the number of times it had to be used. It was somewhat a ‘moving portrait of a community”. In other words, Kurosawa’s Dodes’ka – den belonged to the top of the cannon next to his other masterpieces. Moreover, it was a proof to his critics that his glorious days were over. In fact, this film was wonderful and endearing to watch. As a result, I am very much certain that you will never dare to forget Kurosawa This was a film with an episode of a multi- character study of Tokyo’s poorest of the poor, who lived in a place literally called ‘garbage” However, the film had its sort of serene beauty by the application of Technicolor.

dodeskaden_bDodes’ka – den, the title of the movie came from the sound of a young insane man who drove an imaginary trolley through the slums. With respect to the character, they had all rendered a powerful performance and their very own stories were engrossing. In addition, what moved me to tears was the scene of a man and his son who lived in an abandoned car. During their spare time, they used their imagination to build their dream house. Overall, this can be HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
